Hi! My name is Brian Savage.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.
I began taking sports photos of family and friends over 25 years ago. My kids were and are still involved today in sports such as basketball. I was always the proud dad on the sidelines with the big cameras. Over time I began to hone my skills and sports photography became second nature.
As an alumnus of Georgia Tech, I naturally attended many Georgia Tech sporting events. By luck or fate I was at a women’s basketball game and my path crossed with LaChina Robinson who was the Director of Basketball Operations at the time. She asked if I would like to shoot from court-side. From there the rest, as they say, is history. I feel I owe LaChina and the Georgia Tech women’s basketball program a huge debt of gratitude. Please take some time to visit their websites:
I have been blessed with many sports related photo opportunities since then. I have been able to shoot various sports with several D-1 colleges, professional sports teams and personally meet many professional athletes. These days, you will see me roaming the sidelines at Georgia Tech games and other professional sporting events. You can also find me in dimly lit recreational department and local city/county school gyms. I shoot sports not necessarily for profit, but for the enjoyment of the chase of that perfect iconic photo.
On a personal note: having daughters who have played in so many sports and my work with Georgia Tech and the WNBA, has given me a “behind the scenes” perspective of women’s sports in general. Women’s sports are truly underrated by the general public. Women play sports for the love of the game, not necessarily to gain fame and fortune. Trust me, I am a huge supporter of women’s sports and the reason for this website.
I hope you enjoy viewing some of the more recent photos I’ve taken. I promise you, there are tens of thousands more which are not on the website. If you are looking for something specific, please let me know – I just might have it!
Take care and see you on baseline!
– Brian
